fmu center of excellence
itq grant proposal narrative

3. management plan

the project’s management plan is designed to ensure all project objectives are met in a timely fashion and within budget. the center director and advisory committee have chosen to use a continuous improvement model to guide the management function. the advisory committee will ensure that a diversity of perspectives are heard and the use of feedback will be productive.

the project has clear objectives and activities that are designed to insure that objectives are met. the selection of dr. lorin anderson as the primary consultant, positions the project to have the attention of one of the nation’s leading experts in the use of bloom’s taxonomy. teacher participants will also benefit the support and coaching that will be provided by the faculty consultants.

the project will be guided by the original list of objectives and activities found in the table appearing on page 5 of the proposal narrative. job descriptions, appearing on page 15, clearly specify responsibilities relative to the leadership of the project. the curriculum development strategies appear as a table on pages 9 and 10 and outline key steps that need to be taken to accomplish the major project objectives. an evaluation plan appears on pages 11 and 12 and clearly outlines how the project will be evaluated.

the advisory committee will consult with the center director on program development milestones. advisory committee members represent the perspectives of all partner organizations. committee members will meet quarterly with the center director to review evaluation data and receive project updates. they will provide ongoing feedback to project. the advisory committee includes the dean of the fmu school of education, two fmu faculty members (one from education and one from the liberal arts), the executive director of the center of excellence, a district superintendent, a school principal, two teachers, and a grant-writing consultant.
