"Reading with Nooks"

• Wrote a grant to buy Nook colors
• Wanted to increase reading scores
• The school read 5,000 books by the end of the 3rd nine weeks
• Parents and children were trained by the media specialist on how to use them
• Children can check them out and take them home to use
• Really appealed to them because if children are unsure what a word means, they can click on it and a dictionary will pop up and give them the definition
• The school provided the students with a list of free books they can read beyond the books that school pays for
