Newer teachers in Los Angeles are more likely to be in classrooms with a higher number of struggling students, a trend that can affect teachers’ career paths and outcomes for students, according to a recent study. Officials in the school district say they work to place teachers fairly and tap top teachers to mentor educators who are less experienced in the classroom.
