Time pressures are keeping many schools from adopting education strategies supported by brain science research, such as later start times for high-schoolers and giving students recess as well as other breaks to “encode” learning. Some schools are getting creative with time challenges, including a district in Wyoming that implemented a seven-period rolling schedule that helps accommodate the needs of high-school athletes.
