It may be time to retire the word “bullying,” writes Jim Dillon, a former school administrator. In this blog post, he describes how the word has started to lose meaning and how eliminating “bullying” may allow schools to shift from a criminal-justice framework to more positive changes they can make to create environments that are psychologically and emotionally safe.
