More than 120 schools in five states have partnered with a literacy nonprofit to implement the Leading Men program, which provides kindergartners with tutors of color who are recent high-school graduates. The program not only helps the young students build their literacy skills, it helps the tutors with college tuition and exposes them to teaching opportunities and possible careers.
