Teachers can learn lessons from athletic coaches that can be applied in the classroom and vice versa, according to several experienced teacher-coaches. Jeff Gilbert, a former teacher and coach and now principal of a California high school, suggests that teachers integrate public performance into lessons and work to build unity among students.
