The first day of school is arguably the most important. Students make their first impressions about the adults with which they’ll be spending the next 10 months. So how you start the year off can have major impacts on student learning. In this Inservice post, ASCD Emerging Leader Jasper Fox Sr. shares three tips that can help you create a classroom environment where students feel welcome and comfortable and, ultimately, are ready to learn.
