A Washington state school district and the area housing authority have a program that provides housing assistance for low-income families, with the goal of decreasing student mobility and improving outcomes for students who are homeless. Qualifying parents receive five-year housing vouchers, but they must attend all parent-teacher conferences, make sure their children have high attendance and take part in school functions.
