Fifth-grade teachers at an Indiana school say the focus on other subjects have left little time for science, so they created take-home backpacks with everything students need for hands-on science lessons and experiments. Students do the lessons at home while teachers work to incorporate science into reading and writing lessons and during weekly visits to the science, technology, engineering and math lab.
