Educators at a Wilmington, Del., elementary school started reading stories to students via videoconferencing during pandemic-related shutdowns, and the popular Bedtime Stories program is still going strong, said Principal Tracey Roberts, who sometimes serves as the reader. The Thursday night event can draw up to about 70 students and their families to hear a wide variety of stories to build a sense of community and “foster a love for learning and a love for reading,” Roberts said.
