Feeding America last week released Map the Meal Gap 2016, a report that measures food insecurity and food costs at the county and congressional district level. The report finds that food insecurity — defined as being unable to provide enough food for everyone in a household in the past year — ranges from a low of 4 percent in Loudoun County, Virginia, to a high of nearly 40 percent in Jefferson County, Mississippi.
