Police and firefighters in Oklahoma City have partnered with school officials in a program aimed at giving attention to children who have experienced trauma. Called Handle With Care, the initiative has first responders alerting educators and school counselors when young people have been exposed to crimes, car crashes and other stressful events, so schools can be attuned to behavioral issues or increased needs.
