The school improvement debate is often centered on the lowest-performing schools, where the entire ship needs to be steered in a new direction. But even schools that are high performing or above average and not consistently subjected to the spotlight have blind spots that need to be addressed, whether they be tackling gaps in test scores, graduation rates, participation in SAT or Advanced Placement courses, or absenteeism.
