Many Kirkwood High students juggle after-school jobs and extracurricular activities on top of homework from dense course schedules, said Kirkwood High Principal Michael Havener. Meanwhile, teachers’ work rarely ends when school dismisses for the day; teachers are known for spending nights and weekends grading papers and planning lessons. All of that can be conducive to heavy stress. A little relief from homework on the weekends could help everybody, Havener said.
