A coalition of charities is transforming laundromats into spaces in which students can read, draw and take part in activities to encourage reading and a culture of literacy. The “Family Read & Play Spaces” seek to turn the two hours a week that the average US family spends in a laundromat into time for learning and parent-child interaction.
