High curiosity levels among kindergartners may be linked to higher math and literacy skills — no matter the child’s socioeconomic background — according to recent research. Study author Prachi Shah, associate professor of pediatrics at the University of Michigan, noted, “At high levels [of curiosity], the achievement gap associated with poverty was essentially closed.”
