The Center will be having its Summer Institute on June 19 and 20. There are scheduled keynotes from Dr. William Parrett, Dr. Kathleen Budge, Dr. John Hodge, and Todd Nesloney. There will be 30 breakout sessions from various presenters. The Center of Excellence to Prepare Teachers of Children of Poverty is hosting a Teaching American History One Day Seminar on Saturday August 24, 2019 at the Pee Dee Education Center on the campus of Francis Marion University. This seminar, FREE TO ALL PARTICIPANTS, will use primary source documents to engage teachers in a conversation about the nation's founding principles. The discussion will be led by Dr David Alvis of Wofford College.
